The Sasquatch Way
“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10 (ESV)
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Fellow Adventurers,
My name is Scott Johnson, and I am the founder and director of The Sasquatch Way, a nonprofit born from personal battle, hard truth, and the belief that life is meant to be lived fully, even in the face of terminal illness.
I was diagnosed with an unclassifiable form of multiple myeloma, a rare and unpredictable cancer that turned my world upside down. Through recovery, setbacks, and even a broken femur, I learned something the medical system cannot prescribe: true restoration begins when we align with God’s design for body, mind, and spirit and reconnect with the rhythms of creation, community, and purpose.
The Sasquatch Way exists for those who have been given an expiration date, people who have fought hard, sacrificed deeply, and deserve a break from systems that drained them. We invite young adults ages 18 to 35 to Moab, Utah, where red rock canyons, open sky, mountains, and rivers remind us that life is still vast, powerful, and worth engaging.
This age group is often forgotten. Too old for children’s programs. Too young for adult support. Expected to carry a terminal diagnosis without guidance, space, or rest. So we built a place for healing, growth, and freedom.
We honor God’s design in body, mind, and spirit. Guests are encouraged to:
These are tools, not guarantees. Healing ultimately comes through God, and we provide practical ways to participate in restoration.
Healing does not happen in isolation. Guests find space to connect, share experiences, and support one another. Shared meals, stories, movement, and quiet reflection create an environment where vulnerability is safe and connection is powerful.
Families and individuals leave strengthened, renewed, and ready to face challenges with courage and hope.
Life at The Sasquatch Way is not about mourning or limitation. It is about adventure, joy, and making memories. Guests hike, raft, climb, and explore trails in Moab, laugh, share meals, ride off-road vehicles, and reconnect to the awe of creation. All experiences are framed as celebration of the gift of life, not performance.
You make this possible. Your dedication, generosity, and belief in this mission provide the space and tools for transformation. You fuel courage, hope, and restoration for young adults navigating unimaginable challenges.
This is your journey. Some come to heal, some come to live boldly, all leave changed. Together, we are redefining what it means to face the end—not with fear, but with fire. We live fully. We love deeply. We remember who we are.
That is The Sasquatch Way.
With gratitude and conviction,
Scott Johnson
